March 21, 2010. Is it Spring yet? I'm so looking forward to the new season in the sSchoolhouse Studio! I have been working on lots of new plans.
Hopefully one or two of them will actually rise up and be counted! 2010 will hopefully see me creating much more, and
using the space I made, more wisely. I plan to hold the painting groups, and create a better retail space within the
studio. Gone are the table hockey air air hockey games, and the prominent wet bar! There will be at least one craft show
held at the Schoolhouse Studio, hopefully on Mother's Day or in the early summer, to make use of through traffic and out of
towners.

Well hello, lots of news... I will be partaking in a workshop, Saturday, September 12th all day in the Strathroy Fall
Arts Buffet, taking place at 7880 Walkers Road. For info contact info@arts-council.ca The workshops are free! So many to choose from, from several disciplines. I'll be leading a workshop in glazes,
and a workshop in "Alla Prima" painting, which I specialise in my painting groups. The first of
my studio painting group series has been announced in brochure format. Here's the blurb from it: The Schoolhouse Studio is a working artist’s space, for painting, sculpture, jewellery making and
whatever else takes flight of fancy. Group Painting Sessions are
offered in 8 week terms on Saturdays 12-4, starting Sept.19th to Nov.7th, closing with a group show & auction November
14th. Term
cost: $160Space is limited to 8. Easels provided.Email your questions, and to reserve your spot. We discuss our project of the day, start to work, finish
our works in 3 hours (in Alla Prima style: meaning “At Once”, in one sitting) and then have a group critique, usually with glass of wine in hand.
Very fun. Very Civilised! Absolutely ALL levels encouraged.
The weekend of September 26 & 27, I will be participating in the Strathroy Arts Council Studio Tour. Please drop
by Saturday 26th! Sunday I may not be available.

Now a partly furnished studio...Two kindly gentlemen assisted my large item exodus from the urban studio to their new rural home. Thank you Stuart
& Bill! We all had alot of fun riding the subway, inspecting the city laundromats, talking to strange city folk, and drinking
lots of fine ales.
Its May (soon) and the studio is (or should be) a working studio. Soon, my ducklings, things
will be created...but first...a party must be thrown! I'm thinking more about the end of May or even June, so that
it really has the lived-in look by then...
Please stop by whenever you see my blue horse outside the studio,
or call me cell to get me back to work.

My new studio!! Welcome to the website in progress! I am quite sure there won't be many consitant blog entries, but one can never tell.
I will
be painting the studio (walls) this Easter weekend, and moving the gear down the next one after.
I see an Open
House Party coming up! How about May 9th, 4PM-9PM
Invites will follow!
Primarily the space will
be for me to unleash all the creative juices I have kept penned up inside since my last collection of jewellery, Insects &
Animals, and the series of oil paintings of barnyard animals. That collection of works were to keep my desire to be in
the countryside in check until the day actually came that I made an actual movement towards my dream! That day has come, thanks
to the Balderstons, and a certain excellent friend who has provided a comfy roost for weekends in the country!
My dream for painting in the country has evolved into getting into the bigger sculpture works that I have been salivating
to start, and a bigger, messier space is certainly in need!
*** I will be starting a painting group, for anyone
wishing to benefit from the movitation from group painting. ANY level of painting skill/desire is welcome. I have learned
that we all learn from each other, and naiveity is sometimes the purest place to create from.
I model this
painting group after one I attended in Toronto with a fabulous artist, Catherine Hobart.
The plan is to meet every
Saturday from noon to 4, or thereabouts. I'll have a subject, genre or idea chosen, unless there are suggestions, (welcome
always!) we will discuss the idea, use books and examples, and then paint solidly for 2 hours, (and only 2hrs, with the firm
idea to have a completed piece within a timeframe) and then drink wine, eat food that we all have brought, and positively
critique our own accomplishments. This session is not designed to be a class, or led my myself, but rather a group project.
The cost of this group will probably be $12/session, in a block of 8 sessions. It can start as early
as May.
I'd like the 10 week committment so that I can plan the sessions properly. Perhaps we can invite
guest speakers in sometimes too, paint outside, etc.
Equipment needed: paint, canvass, paper, brushes, cleaning
solutions, etc.
I will provide the easels, chairs and tables. ****** ****** Well, bloggers, or blog
readers, that's it for now...please peruse the site and keep in touch! All welcome, anytime!
Keep the love
alive! Keep it real! Keep breathing!
